Dinner Time Toes

Susan's little high chair sits on top of a regular chair.  At each meal time, she hooks her big toes on the edge of the tray.

She is such a great eater!  I look forward to feeding her.  Tonight's dinner, as evident on her bib, was sweet potatoes, yogurt and cherries.  Delish!

Creeping, Climbing, Crawling!

That pesky stair onto the landing by the front door is keeping her contained in the living room... for now!

In other news - Susan has a third tooth popping through!  It's on the top.  Time is flying.  How is it that January was the longest month of my LIFE, but now things are moving so quickly!?

What's THIS?  It's so shiny!  Best go exploring...

I'll keep Pooh Bear - he's more my style.  You take this other thing and go to rehearsal!

Chewing on Stuff

Finally!  They let me down so I can explore...

Why does Mom have such bad taste in movies?

Still tastes good!

Best Buds

Percy!  You came to see me!

 I like your fur.

 What should we do today?

Awww. Sad.

Okay, now, obviously I can read my cat's body language, and I know that the little half human really freaks him out some times.  But whenever she touches Percy there is parental supervision, and he does a great job at running away when he gets annoyed.  I keep trying to tell him - the tail pulling hasn't even really begun yet!!!

Crawling Kiddo!

It's like a switch has flipped in Susan's brain, finally coordinating her body with her will.  If she wants it, she'll crawl to get it!

Yes!  Capture!

To Sum-Up...

Here are some more pictures from Vicki's visit.  We had such a wonderful time!!!

Fish & Chips at Ivar's downtown!

 Olympia Farmer's Market

My favorite view point in West Seattle, with the Seattle city scape in the background.

Sunday on the patio.

Thank you for a fabulous time, Aunt Vicki!  We are so incredibly blessed to have family that takes their time & money & energy to travel across the country to see us.  We love you so much - can't wait to see you again.

Eight Month Birthday!

Dear, sweet Susan is 8 months old!  She is full of changes and never surprises us with the things that she does each day.  Here are some observations about our little girl:

1.  Susan is crawling!!  After at least a month of being up on all-fours and rocking back and forth, and occasionally trying to take a step with a knee (which inevitably would result in a face plant) she started taking consecutive steps on Saturday.  More info in a post that I'll do tomorrow.

2.  Susan knows what she wants and when she wants it.  Although I still maintain that she has an easy-going personality and is pleasant 90% of the time, Susan  becomes frustrated when she can't get a toy that she has her eye on, or when she wants more to eat, or when Mama walks out of the room.

3.  Some of Susan's favorite foods are fruits.  She's had lots of peaches, blueberries and cherries lately.  She's also had chicken & salmon.  There isn't any food that she won't eat so far.

4.  Bath time is a hit.  Susan is a little bit TOO good at splashing, and I'm sure that she strategically plots how to soak Mom or Dad when they're sitting at the side of the tub.

5.  Bed time is not a hit.  She fights off sleep by screaming/singing/talking to herself, which just boggles my mind.  Why not just relax in your cushy crib and drift away......?  Mommy would really like that.

6.  Susan has been home with Eric during these summer months.  Next week, she will go back to Sharon's house during the middle of the week while Mom has work at the church.  I think we're all eager to get into the swing of a new fall routine.

7.  The clothing that Susan is wearing is around '6 Month' sizes.  She's tiny, so those clothes seem to be fitting her best... although they're still a little loose!  I'm not sure how much she weighs, but I know she's putting on the pounds!

8.  Susan's favorite toy is clearly a stuffed lion that Gram gave to her.  She smiles and giggles whenever he is close by, and she loves to gnaw on his little paw or tail.  We have started calling him 'Leo.'

9.  And although she loves to gnaw on Leo, she really will gnaw on anything.  Counter-pressure feels good on the teeth that are coming in!  No new appearances other than those 2, but they're keeping her plenty busy.

Happy 8-Month Birthday, little girl.  Thanks for letting us care for you!

Visiting with Vicki!

Susan's great aunt Vic is here visiting from upstate New York.  We've had a lovely time so far, enjoying great weather, fabulous food and wonderful company.  Yesterday we went to the Olympia Farmer's Market and got the fixings for an AMAZING dinner here at home.  Today, we had church and a leisurely lunch at our home.

'ahhhhhhhh!'

Tonight - dinner at a local seafood restaurant, Salty's.  Oh - and a shout out to my sister-in-law Melissa, who found her wedding dress yesterday!

Just Another Evening

Our weather has been bea-utiful lately!  It's been 75-80 degrees and sunny.  By the time the sun starts to set, our backyard is pleasantly shady and it's the perfect place to hang out.

I think Eric & Susan are looking more & more alike all the time... don't you?

Bath Time Teething

Susan has two... count 'em, TWO, teeth coming in!  She's enjoying chewing on lots of different textures... even during bath time!

I bet you like the hairstyle, too, right?
